SO TIRED NOW haha just now while we were sitting at that prata place I could totally have just slept on the table xD but okay hair is still wet so I'll type for however long it takes to dry (a lot shorter, post-cutting xD)
Had lots of food-exchanging in the morning with batchmates since it seemed like everyone went home to bake goodies! xD Boh, Malini, Sab, Mel and I all brought stuff that we baked the previous night hurhur ;) celebrations in the hall were quite hilarious with all those games, good thing we're Sec4 and don't have to watch it through live streaming!
After class party, Mary, Jingyi and I went to WALK! xD Gonna be extra detailed because I was so sad that I didn't have a camera hur.
Started behind the school down to the Botanic Gardens entrance at Tanglin and spent a lot of time wondering if the tiny fish were mollys (mollies?) or guppies/how spiders balloon/whether a blue and grey dragonfly stuck together flying around meant they were mating/other garden minutiae ;D
Exited on Lornie Road, and 'cause Jingyi didn't want to walk past the cemetery we crossed to Some Other Side. WHICH HAD A PEDESTRIAN PATH THAT ENDED IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE okay really what's the point?? So we just crossed onto the flyover via grass patches haha that place is so windy it feels like being on top of the world :DD
After we exited we were stuck where-the-cars-turn-in 'cause the flow of cars just! didn't! stop! Whereupon
Mary: ... Actually there's a pedestrian path on the other side.
Jingyi&I: REALLY.
Mary: See lah so scared of cemetery. LET'S CROSS.
Jingyi: The expressway?????
Mary: Well the cars aren't stopping here!!
Jingyi: This is one lane. That is four lanes times two. WHICH DO YOU THINK IS MORE DANGEROUS?!
After ten minutes or so this van was driving up really slowly and we couldn't decide whether or not to cross until he started waving at us to go on! Apparently after we crossed he was shaking his head hahahha probably exasperated at stupid girls who don't know how to take an expressway crossing when they see one okay he's a nice guy anyway xD
Entered the MacRitchie trail okay that place is so exciting!!!! Reminded us of OBS so much hahahahha started reminiscing about our fantastic tent xD even walking single file (just naturally fell into it in order of who was most at home in the terrain LOL) All that Silence and Green and Landscape that even 'Private Property' signs around the SICC border cannot spoil, the atmosphere is fantastic :DD (also Mary walked in front so she broke all the spider webs for us hahhaha) (Although I think there is probably a Standard Format for nature reserves?? parts of it felt like Pierce Reservoir (from LJ last year) and others like WELL hurhur)
There was this Jelung-something Tower about halfway in that we decided to climb,
Mary: ARE WE THERE YET
And after the both of us climbed to the top landing we couldn't see Jingyi in the last two landings so we hung over the railing trying to spot her xD Seven flights of spiral staircase is no joke hahahha. (But worth it!! Higher than all the surrounding trees + no sign of civilisation thanks to hills ^.^)
Exited via the Venus Trail at someplace that looked like it was straight out of a Japanese-occupation photo! And reached the bus stop at 2.51pm where we decided to sit a while because all our feet were sore xD Walked some more to Salted Caramel (love their alternative playlist) and had dessert before lunch at the prata place! (Where we finished ordering our food at 3.51pm hahhah ;)
Basically spent the rest of the time sitting there and talking, there is no footsore that two hours++ of sitting down cannot cure! ;D On the way back it took the 855 less than 10min to reach Farrer Road, while we probably walked for two hours just to go from Serene Centre to outside-Macritchie xD
Should I take orders for mooncakes after exams!! xD (Esp since that's just nice when 七月 ends ;) It'd give me an excuse to expand into fruit-flavoured (lemon and strawberry! and aunt wants lychee) skins since it's either make your own puree (麻烦的要死 haha already I complain about killing our pandan plant for the water) or buy, and both are highly perishable O:
they played some other cover while we were eating at SC but nvm there are a lot of good covers of this song ;D
