it's so strange to be at the beginning of final year of uni
(also because the guys just started??)
does adult life start soon?? have i been in adult life for a while already??? who knows right????
who are the important people in my life? is there really anything special about old friends, just because they saw you grow up? or are the people that you see every day more important, even though they've only seen the most recent version of you?
our lives are canvases and every person, every moment, is a mark made in permanent ink.
if secondary school is the process of Becoming Yourself, i think university is the process of Really Knowing What 'Yourself' Means.
in the sense that university hasn't really been very earth-shattering for me in terms of personal identity, and more like me discovering where's my comfort zone, where are my priorities when it comes right down to the line, etc.
don't really regret it, although makes me wonder why i'm happy to start 'settling down' earlier
now that i am who i am, the next step is to discover what i'll make of myself.
one big unknown on the horizon and i'm kinda sad that i'll be graduating before many of my batchmates (start work aged 22? am i going to really be an aunty soon?)
suddenly there are so many choices right
and no one can make those choices but you.
maybe one regret i have is that i don't retain friends very well over the years? i don't have many close friends left whom i've known since pre-Big Change (i.e. before 15yo). most close friends only know adult (or adult-ish) henghwee. is it important to have friends who know You When You Were Not So Sure Of Yourself?
i guess hindsight is 20/20 and i'll figure that out when i reach my horizon.
